Some More Haiku

The pastel colors
Arched high across the heavens,
Bringing God’s promise.

*

The small leaf trembled
As the wind brushed it gently,
Leaving it a-quake.

*

The humming bird flashed,
Pausing instantly to sup
The sun warmed nectar.

*

Thunder rolled and boomed,
The lightening streaked the heavens,
Blackness descended.

*

The rains came, pouring,
Pounding with pelting fury,
Pummeling the ground.

*

That's it for this time, I guess.

My Desire

You are my desire
No one else will do
Cause no one else can take your place
Or make me feel your warm embrace.

Help me back to you
Help me find the way
You're all I want or ever needed
I long, always, to have you near.

Things I Love

I love the music
on the wind;
stars on parade,
or raindrops din.

I love the flowers’
uplifted faces
sunshine’s’ warmth,
or special places.

I love the storm
in blackened skies;
lightning flashes,
or ghostly faces.

I love the trees
with golden leaves;
emerald grass,
or golden sheaves.

I love the seasons
of summer moss,
spring showers,
or winter frost.

Alone In A Chat Room

One night in the chat room of a Forum I frequent I made a post and waited.....and waited.....and no on answered...I posted something else, and still no comment. After awhile I typed a few lines I was singing from a little ditty in my head......realizing I was totally alone in there, I just started playing around, talkin to myself.... and wound up writing this little poem:

A place of gloom;
A shadowy place;
That's where I wander now.
Afraid of doom
And darkened spaces
And every squeak and howl.
Did I break a 'widget'?
Or mess up a 'whatsit'?
I want some people...now!!

Well, there was enough of them lurking that they started laughing and posting after that.
I guess they felt sorry for me...all alone in there...in the dark........

I'm outta here...I think I'm alone again!!

Haiku From My Past

I was looking over some of my old papers from my writing class and found some Haiku that I had to write in class. (This is a Japanese poem, and is always three lines long, with line one having 5 syllables, line two having 7 syllables, and line three having 5 syllables.)

When I am reading novels little snippets of description would paint these little pictures in my mind. Then in class I learned what they are called...haiku .

I thought a few I wrote would be good to share, to start out my new blog!

In forest glades dewy,
Misty and shrouded in fog,
Rain fairies caper.

The silver moon shone,
Holding the lovers captive
In its cool embrace.

The gray ghostly fog
Slithered over the mountains
With creeping fingers.

The icy waters
Pooled beneath the waterfall,
Fern edged and mossy.

The floppy rag doll
Lolled, all dirty and tattered,
But most dearly loved.

I guess that's enough for now. I really will put a poem on here, soon.
